The following appointed town positions are open for the 2011-2012 fiscal year.  The Selectboard will make appointments at the 1^st Selectboard meeting in July, date and time to be decided.  If you have an interest in any of the following positions please be sure to attend that meeting so the selectboard may consider you. Tomorrow’s fire department training will be held from 4:00 – 5:00 pm.  Please meet at the municipal building fire bay.

We will be doing a run through of fire response where we will meet, determine the location of the “fire”, and do a run through of our response including coordinating the response, mock call ins, priming and starting the pumper, refilling the tank, and hose work, and deploying ground units for fire spread prevention.  This is a great opportunity to learn the equipment currently available during an island fire response.  We encourage everyone who can to attend much as they would in a real fire situation.  People of all ages and level of physical ability are welcome as there are many tasks that require no physical exertion during an actual fire response.  The more knowledge we all share about the capabilities and procedures of fire response the safer we will all be.  Please contact the town office if you have any questions.
