Invitation to Bid on Town Mooring

The town of Frenchboro currently has a town owned mooring to be placed up for sealed bids to the highest bidder.  There is a large cost with maintaining, insuring, and such with a mooring and the board has chosen to place this up for bid.

The mooring has not been viewed by the board, it is for sale on an “as is” purchase and it will need to be relocated immediately.

Sealed bids are to be mailed to Attn: Rebecca Lenfestey 1 Executive Drive, Frenchboro, Maine 04635

Please enclose your name, contact information, and bid that you are willing to pay.   The town is looking to move quickly on this sale so please respond soon.

All bids are due to the Frenchboro Town Office no later than 6pm Monday October 7, 2013.

Thanks!

Revaluation by Parker Appraisal

Dear Frenchboro Tapayer,

As required by the laws of the State of Maine, the Assessors, in conjunction with the professional firm Parker Appraisal Company, have completed a preliminary revaluation of all taxable property in the town as requested by voters at a Special Town Meeting.

During the past year, an active and complete program of the property tax equalization has been conducted.  The aim is to place a fair market value assessment on each property so that every taxpayer will pay only his or her fair share of the taxes required to efficiently operate the Town of Frenchboro.  Please keep in mind that our valuation here is Frenchboro has not changed in many years.

At this time it appears that, based on available figures, the new fiscal year 2013-2014 tax rate will be approximately $14.00 per $1,000 of evaluation.  An ESTIMATED tax bill reflecting the revaluation and propsed mil rate is enclosed.  This is not your annual tax bill.  DO NOT SEND PAYMENT.

If you wish to question your valuation figure, you may make an appointment for an interview with the appraiser by emailing frenchboro@gmail.com or by calling Rebecca Lenfestey at 207-460-8037 Monday through Thursday from 3:30-5pm.  The interviews will be conducted for taxpayers with appointments only at the Frenchboro Town Office on Friday September 20, 2013 starting at 10am and ending at 4pm.  If this time frame makes it impossible for you to appear in person, you may submit a letter outlining your feelings regarding your new assessment during the same time period.  We can only accept a limited number of spaces and it is on a first come first serve basis, so please keep that in mind.

The Parker Appraisal Company and the Town Officials would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your cooperation during the course of this project.

Sincerely,

Frenchboro Assessors

Pat McEachron, Ann Fernald, Zachary Lunt
